A Thought

Here is a bit on Ava's Rule:

I was on a fellow photogs blog today Sheye Rosemyer Photo blog and wanted to share this that she put together after her beautiful daughter Ava passed. You can read Ava's story here

Mary Hanson of Mary Hanson Photography said it best when she said:

What has become clear to me though is that you can plan and hope all you want, you can imagine and presume and expect life to go a certain way but really, there is no watertight guarantee. All the days are "normal". The happy ones, the sick ones, the bored ones, the tragic ones. I am no expert, I have less clarity than the average person but what I have found, because of One Normal Day, is this:
Live each day, every single day, with the understanding that one does not necessarily lead into the other. Hug your family. Tight. Put aside What Does Not Matter. Tomorrow could be a completely new kind of normal."

Today's My Day!!

Today's My Birthday! Woo Hoo! If only the Chargers were playing today

Images taken by the lovely Melissa

*Ok for some reason it is showing Feb 2nd still but it should say the 3rd, heck that's my birthday and it's 1:06am here anyways!

The Secret! I'm In!

I'm so excited I can't contain myself. I just signed up for The Secret Workshop . I have been wanting to attend for awhile now to better my business and most importantly my images I offer you. The images these ladies do have such "pop" and they are so beautiful. I set my alarm yesterday for 7am since that is when registration was opening (of course I didn't get up until 7:10) By the time I got to the computer at 7:10 there were only 14 spots left. The workshop sold out before noon. I'm so glad I will be a part of it and be able to offer you all so much more. I will be attending in April in Phoenix and can't wait to bring back so much knowledge and amazing images for you all!

Do you see who I see? Can it be?

Yep it sure is......it's Jerry OConnell! Remember him from Jerry Maguire, Kangaroo Jack and the tv series Sliders, and also now starring in the new television comedy series, "Carpoolers"
Went to Phoenix/Tempe yesterday to meet up with a couple photog friends. We met up at a certain resort to take photos and with the Superbowl in town the stars are too. As we were leaving up came limos and vehicles. We're pretty darn sure one of the teams was staying there too, we believe we saw many players but being that 2 of us are major Chargers fans we wouldn't be able to figure out players on the other two teams, all we know is that our Chargers missed out after their game 2 weeks ago, boo hoo! Anyhow we did recognize Mr. Jerry OConnell who was really nice, let us take his picture, saying we didn't look like paparazzi (being a good thinking I assume the way it was said)

*Have found out now it was the Giants staying there. Turns out the NFL booked the whole resort, now how we got in and no one said anything I don't know since we were wandering around with our cameras but hey, it's cool.
Although now knowing they booked the whole place I have to wonder, why the heck did they have super bowl l stuff all over the place to buy? Wouldn't you think the teams in the super bowl could just get what they wanted?!

Had a blast

A bit of fun in Phoenix yesterday. I met up with fellow photographers Melissa and Ruby I had a GREAT time with you ladies, can't wait to do it again. Maybe in Costa Rica!?!!

And We Are........LIVE!!

The new website for Leah Simmers Photography is up and running. A new high school senior site will be added soon too. I'm looking for some high school seniors, juniors and sophomore's to model for me for the site though so if you know of one, send them my way.
This site is a bit simpler than the last but I love how big the images are and like my husband says, with this site, "it's all about the images" and when it comes to photography it sure is.

Sneak Peak

Here's sneak peaks of a fun spunky lil' girl I had the pleasure to photograph yesterday, boy did she ever give me a work out though. It's a good thing she did not have sneakers on or we would never be able to keep up with her.

How about this cutie...Sneak Peak

What a cute little man you both have, I'm so happy I got to meet him! Luckily we found the vibrating bouncy seat to make him happy, I love this color image of him when he had his bouncy seat hidden under him. His big yawn in the second image I love too.
