The other day we went out to visit the Saguaro national park. I'm always on the look out for some new exciting areas to photograph people. I was worried at first as we kept telling the kids we were going to the park. They were so excited I wasn't sure if they would be dissapointed to find it a park with no slides or swings. Boy was I wrong, they had a blast hiking around. Here are a few images from our fun time there.

The Beauty That Surrounds Us
Ok, so awhile back after visiting upstate New York and seeing the beauty in the trees, the lush landscape, the farms and so much more, I fell in love. Although after talking to people there I realized they did not view it the same as I did. I was a pair of fresh eyes in a place I had never seen.
I then started to wonder. Living in Arizona I often started to think of it as just desert, hot, dusty and dirt. I wondered what others thought. After asking some other people who had only been here for a short time I began to look at the state I call home a new way. We have beautiful mountains and the fact that we don't have the mass amount of trees leads to a very open and blue sky feeling. And the sunsets, the sunsets we have are amazing. I have started taking images of our sunsets a couple times a week for the last month.
Well tonight I was inside cooking when my dear husband started rapping on the window telling me I better grab my camera and get outside quick. (The sunsets do pass quickly at times) I went outside to find the most amazing sky before me. The sky looked like colorful ocean waves to me that swept across the whole sky.
I quickly started taking pictures before I realized the image was missing something..someone. My husband quickly helped my son up onto our roof so I could capture him among the beautiful sky.
Well he wasn't too fond of being up there at the moment so I wasn't able to capture him standing but I still think it came out pretty neat. Now though he keeps wanting to go back up (of course after the skies color had passed)
So a bit of a lesson here. Stop take a look around you and your surroundings, take time to find the beauty that surrounds you.
*No enhancing needed. This is the sky that appeared before me.

New Venue, Fun With Friends, What a Day...
What an amazing time I had yesterday! I was super fortunate to get to spend a few hours with some photographer friends from the Phoenix area. Melissa www.melissakoehlerphotography.com and Ruby www.dazzimages.com . They drove on down here and we went to Old Tucson Studios www.oldtucson.com . I had not been there before and wow! What a great location for getting some amazing images. If anyone ever wants to take the drive up there for one of there sessions just let me know. It runs $17 to get in but if you don't get there until 2pm it is $11 (closes at 4). Anyhow here are some of the images taken.

New Things Coming
Ok, I have been a bit busy lately. I'm excited about new things on the way. With a new year and business going so well I'm starting a new website soon. I have been hard at work fixing up a new site. I hope to have it all finished and ready to launch by the end of the month. The new website will have bigger images, a calendar so you can see what dates are available and my favorite part... Online proofing. Now you will be able to view your images from home and quicker than before. Everyone will have their own private password they will be able to share with family and friends. Besides being able to view your images sooner, you will be able to share with those family and friends that don't live nearby. I have also decided to change my colors and logo too so starting here is the introduction of the new logo. A little less whimsey and a little more edgy... a little more me.
Get ready because I expect many more new and exciting things to be coming this year. I'm getting really excited about going away next month for a photography convention to meet with photographers around the world. With so many other photographers, ideas and new products to offer you I can't wait to see what the new year will bring.
